Local authors. History and literature:
In the olden days in Sa Pobla, the Holy Week processions were darkly sad. Christ, sometimes a penitent carrying the cross and dragging chains, was escorted by Roman soldiers dressed with better will than skill. Keys, hammers and ladders symbolised the passion. Holy Week in Sa Pobla. By Joan Payeras i Llull (b. 1940); journalist, writer, specialised in sports and chronicler of the town at present.
