Can Planes/Cas Murero

Carrer d’Antoni Maura, 1-3

Can Planes/Cas Murero

Building constructed at the beginning of the 20th century. Of particular note is the use of classical decorative elements such as the double triangular pediment over the balcony windows on the main floor. In the central part of the main façade there are two balconies with stone balustrades that are supported by four columns. The building culminates in a central tower.

Until 1908, the family of Xisco Planas i Poquet, a member of a notable "poblera" family, lived here. Later, the Picó family, known as Cas Murero, acquired it. This same family - Picó-Aguiló - was the one that built the Montecarlo cinema in 1957 in Capità Pere street.
