Can Palou de la Jordana

Carrer de Crestatx, 29

Can Palou de la Jordana

Traditional house of Baroque architecture in Mallorca with two storeys. It dates from the end of the 17th century. The main doorway stands out, with a semicircular arch with stone voussoirs and jambs. Above the arch of the garage, we can see the date 1693. They were a family of large landowners of farmland. The Jordana family had several branches in Mallorca.

Apart from Can Palou, in Sa Pobla it was also known as Can Perico de la Jordana.

Local authors. History and literature:
From Alcúdia we returned to Manacor via La Puebla - or rather, La Pobla - the most fertile part of the island, though not the most picturesque. There is a lagoon there and the sea soaks the land. An army of windmills draws water from this water, but from these modern windmills with wheels and small wooden blades... It comes to the earth at work.
