Casal de Can Goiet

A traditional-style house in which the semicircular arched doorway with stone voussoirs and jambs stands out. In the past, this family had, in the western part of "sa Marjal" (as the settlers call the sown land), large properties of sown land between the town of sa Pobla, es Rafal and Son Valentí.

Local authors. History and literature:
The rice farmer starts out as a farmer because of his rural culture and knowledge of the environment where he will plant the rice. It is necessary for him to understand the climatic conditions offered by the growing area and the composition of the soil. The relationship between the plant and the environment is fundamental. The rice farmer must be aware of the winds, rainfall, reservoirs, the sun.... Otherwise, he would be taking too many risks and could fail.

Rice production and crisis in sa Pobla and Muro. By Damià Duran i Jaume (b.1931); writer, local researcher, bank worker and porrerenc.
